Fragments of Us is a collaborative creation with the Toyooka-based youth dance company tocotoco shot in Kinosaki Onsen, Hyogo Prefecture.
A film about being somewhere in between. Between childhood and becoming a teenager. Between what we know and what we are only beginning to imagine.
Through movement, play and small fragments of everyday life, the film brings together the joy, questions, worries and dreams of young people at a vibrant and fragile moment of change. A time when childhood is slowly slipping away, while something new is taking shape, sometimes exciting, sometimes confusing, sometimes full of wonder.
Movement became our shared language, opening a space for curiosity, trust, exploration, play and creative experimentation. The camera was used as a partner, a confidant and an outside eye: sometimes observing, sometimes joining the game.
